Anamudi

Anamudi is the highest mountain peak in Kerala, situated in the southern region of Eravikulam National Park in Munnar. Anamudi Mountain is opulent in various kinds of flora and fauna and is very well known for possessing endangered animals.

Anamudi peak shelters many animals as it resembles the original abode for the animals with its dense forests. Nilgiri languors, leopards, tigers, and macaques are found here. The nearest town to Anamudi is Munnar. Some part of the maountain is slope while some other parts are steep. This mountain peak has evergreen forests around it. Bamboo and Teak are the common trees found around here. The Nilgiri Tahr (Varayaadu) is the species of deer which can be seen here as well as in the Eravikulam National Park. There are several other rare species of animals and plants in Anamudi.

Anamudi is favourite for advanture lovers. Trekking facilities are readily available here. The exotic flower Nelelakurinji which blooms every twelve years is a rare view and attraction of this place.
