Chettikulangara is a beautiful village situated in Mavelikkara taluk of Alappuzha district of kerala state. It is famous for the Chettikulangara Temple. Chettikulangara Bharani is conducted during February or March every year. The important festivity associated with this utsavam is "Kettu-Kazhcha" which resembles the Chinese festival celebrated on the birthday of Buddha.
The procession in connection with Kettu-Kazhcha will be a colourful one participated by big crowd. Kuthiyottam is also another important festivity. Chettikulangara Sree Bhagavathi temple is one of the most renowned temples in Kerala. The temple is located in Chettikulangara in Mavelikkara taluk of Alappuzha dist.
The Kumbha Bharani festival also draws great attention. The huge decorated chariots and horses are a spectacular view. During the festival in this temple, a temporary market will be formed near the temple where local agricultural and farm products will be sold.
Chettikulangara temple is under control of Travancore Devaswom Board. This is one of the richest temples in Kerala.
