Kannur International Airport has all the international standards of safety and comfort as is the aim of the government. Government of Kerala vide its order GO (MS)No.2/98/Tran dated 17.01.1998 accorded sanction for setting up International Airport Kannur and appointed KINFRA as the nodal agency for its implementation.
Kannur International Airport Limited (KIAL) is a public limited company set up by the Government Of Kerala to build and operate the proposed Kannur International Airport. The company was registered in December 2009 as a private limited company and converted into a public limited one in August 2010.
The land after acquisition will be transferred to the company, which is implementing the airport project.
