Thirunelli Temple is an ancient temple in Wayanad. The temple is situated about 30 Kms away from Mananthavady. The journey to the temple is through the forests which is a fascinating one. The temple is otherwise called 'thekkan kasi' which reveals the importance of the temple. It is believed that a dip in the holy water of the temple will wipe out all the sins.

The Banasura Sagar Dam is in the river Kabani which is the largest earth dam in India. The dam with its reservoir and the islands around it is a spectacular view.

Chembra Peak is the highest peak located near Meppadi in Wayanad. As an important tourist spot in Wayanad, many people visits the area almost all the time. Trekking to the peak can be done only with the permission from the forest authorities.

Nearly 30 Kms from Kalpetta, Meenmutty Waterfalls is an important tourist spot in Wayanad. It is one of the tallest waterfalls in Wayanad. The moist atmosphere of the waterfalls and the forest around it is a spectacular view.

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary is an equally important sanctuary as the Thekkady and Munnar. This is a unique wild life sanctuary in Wayanad. Several wild animals such as elephant, bison, deer and several species of birds are living in harmony here. There are several tropical plants in this area. Endangered species also can be seen here. The sanctuary is part of the Nilgiri Wildlife sanctuary.
